Ipamorelin is a peptide mimetic of ghrelin. The word “mimetic” means that it imitates the hunger hormone and indirectly stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to produce growth hormone. Growth hormone, on the other hand, increases the production of insulin-resistant growth factor type 1 (IGF-1), which has a systemic anabolic effect.
